Většinu ravers byste na ulici podle oblečení neidentifikovali, rave jako subkultura nicméně svůj typický styl oblékání má. Primárně jde o vyjádření sounáležitosti (proto se rave oblečení nosí ve větší míře na akcích) a originalitu, některé prvky techno módy ale mají určitý (i praktický) význam. Různé styly EDM se od sebe v typickém oblečení více či méně liší, především co se týče motivů na různých částech oděvu, korespondujících s charakterem určitého stylu.
Na přelomu 80. a 90. let byly v rave hnutí oblíbené teplákové nebo šusťákové soupravy Adidas (většinou z druhé ruky), které pak nosili hlavně gabbers - vyznavači hardcoru. Ti dost často měli taky holé hlavy nebo ultra krátké sestřihy (ženy či dívky vyholené pouze boky a zátylek hlavy, vlasy na temeni ponechány dlouhé a stažené do culíku nebo zapletené v copu). Britští acid house/techno ravers - tzv. "kandi kids" nebo "PLUR warriors" - začali nosit neonově zářivé barvy, zvířecí motivy (tygrování, leopardí vzor, zebří pruhy apod.), kožešinové návleky na ruce a nohy, pestrobarevné korálky (převzaté od hippies) nebo indiánské čelenky. Typickým doplňkem se stal vějíř kvůli vzduchu v klubech bez klimatizace, lightsticky pro umocnění vizuálního zážitku a dudlík zamezující nepříjemnému dření zubů o sebe po užití extáze.
Hodně se nosí kalhoty do zvonu - to je další prvek převzatý z módy hippies, který se objevil už v 70. letech na diskotékách. Disco se však podřizuje tomu co je in, aby bylo stále v kurzu a to i v oblíkání, takže jakmile byly zvony a afra out, nosit se přestaly. Ochranka mnohých britských disco klubů dokonce neumožňovala vstup na party "špatně oblečeným". I to je jeden z důvodů, proč je techno styl tak extravagantní; chce se dát najevo nepřizpůsobivost trendům a "right to party" ať už mám na sobě cokoliv. Přebírá tak i něco z punkové módy: okované náramky, pásky, obojky a obarvené vlasy nagelované do číra nebo bodlin.
Technaři dále často nosí rukavice, různé roušky či masky, batohy v podobě plyšových zvířat, LED oblečení i doplňky, kontaktní čočky, výrazný a originální make-up (i u mužů), piercingy, tetování; technařky - ženy GO GO oblečky. Praktické využití mají sluneční brýle (někdo má citlivé oči a nemusí mu tak dělat dobře laser show), potítka a tašky "ledvinky", které nepřekáží při tanci a ty nejpotřebnější věci se do nich vejdou.
Svůj vlastní styl oblečení má tekno scéna. Teknaři nosí spíš tmavé barvy jako je černá, šedá, tmavě modrá nebo khaki. Typicky se na free scéně nosí mikiny s kapucí, kšiltovky a maskáčové kapsáče; z účesů jsou často k vidění dready nebo číro.
Přikládám odkazy na e-shopy s rave oblečením. Co tam nenajdeš, uklohni DIY nebo si nech ušít, potisknout atd. ;-). Některé uvedené e-shopy nejsou zaměřené vyloženě na rave oblečení, ale dá se tam najít pár zajímavých kousků v tomto stylu (v tomhle směru můžu doporučit třeba i značky PunkyFish, Ed Hardy, Smog, Fishbone nebo Diesel). Nejznámější technoshop, který měl v Česku dokonce 2 kamenné pobočky - německý Deecom se značkou Amok - už bohužel není...
